One of the best ways to assess a physician is to read reviews that patients have taken the time to share on these websites.  If you read Dr. Jackson’s reviews you are likely to find them inspiring and heart-warming.

Dr. Jackson’s past and present hobbies and area of pursuit include medicinal herbs, dietary supplements, martial arts, bodywork, therapeutic applications of sound, hypnosis, hiking, sailing, and futurism (the exponentially increasing impact of information technology on scientific progress and our daily lives). He is an author, inventor (holds 2 U.S. patents), musician, poet, videographer and audio engineer. Dr. Jackson moved to La Quinta a while ago after having lived in the mountain town of Idyllwild for 16 years.

Petra Schoning, LMFT is an employee of Desert View Health. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as, a Board Certified Personal and Executive Coach. They make a great therapeutic team and their love for their work has created a uniquely comfortable and healing atmosphere.

Partly as a result of Dr. Jackson’s rather eclectic background, he has developed a series of therapeutic audio programs for the treatment of sleep disorders and anxiety using a remarkable 3D sound technology. Dr. Jackson readily gives these programs to his patients as part of his treatment approach. He has developed one series of programs for adults and another series for children, for which he wrote a companion guide, “DreamChild Adventures in Relaxation and Sleep.”

The preface to the book was written by the previous Director of the Loma Linda University Sleep Laboratory, Dr. Ralph Downey III, in which he stated: “When you experience the 3D Living Sound technology used to record these programs you won’t believe what they are hearing. The programs will immerse you in a sense of virtual reality with sounds emanating from all around. I am quite sure you will find the experience so unique and engaging that, like me, you will be at a loss for words to describe it. Listening to the children’s programs will engage your child in journeys that are both entertaining and relaxing. And through an array of comforting suggestions and visualizations, brought to life by 3D sound, anxiety and racing thoughts melt away, allowing your child to quickly fall asleep.”

Dr. Downey also assisted in the testing of Dr. Jackson’s adult sleep program on U.S. Air Force pilots, funded by a $500,000 Department of Defense grant. A summary of various research studies on the programs is provided in Appendix H of the DreamChild book.
